Hi! I have a hybrid pc Acer Iconia w510 working under Windows 8.1. Every time I start printing an e-mail in Thunderbird 52.2.1 an on-screen keyboard appears. After this all open windows are resized and the location of icons on the desktop is changed. In computer settings the on-screen keyboard is switched off. It does not automatically appear in other applications. How can I suppress its appearance in Thunderbird?

You have said "...when tying a letter' and also 'Every time I start printing an e-mail'. These are two entirely different actions. So I'm going with the 'typing'... when composing an email.

Thunderbird does not call the keyboard. It is not a Thunderbird issue.

Your computer is doing this. Suggest you turn if off if you do not use it.

Perhaps it is running under 'Services' as automatic instead of manual. I access 'Services' via 'Run' > 'services.msc' It may also be via 'Control Panel' > 'Administative tools' > 'Services' maybe look for Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Service, or words to that effect. But this Thunderbird forum is not the forum to discuss how your computer works. Ask your computer manufacturer. Thunderbird has nothing to do with calling a keyboard.

No other program on my pc calls spontaneously the on-screen keyboard. Moreover, earlier versions of Thunderbird did not call it too. It appeared after renewal to the latest or next to the latest version. So, all points to the fact that there is something in the latest versions, which cause the keyboard.

Thanks, it works after disabling the on-screen keyboard in services.
