How can I find out whether my Celeron R, 3.06GHz, CPU is a "Pentium 4 or newer processor that supports SSE2"?

I want to be able to update beyond Firefox 48, but do not know whether I can. I am on Windows XP SP3 with 504MB RAM. I have no idea how to rank processors nor how to find out whether it supports SSE2.

hi, yes i think your cpu is still supporting the sse2 instruction set. what you can do in any case is to initiate a manual check for updates in the firefox menu ≡ > (?) help > about firefox panel - if your system was really incompatible you shouldn't be offered an update there in the first place.

Intel CPU's since Pentium 4 in 2001 have supported SSE2 and Celerons have supported SSE2 for quite a while https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celeron#Willamette-128

If your CPU did not support SSE2 then you would not be able to use Firefox 49.0 and later. You appear to have Firefox 49 on a WinXP system.

The SSE2 has been listed as a requirement since Firefox 4.0 actually.
