Firefox Starts and then Closes Shortly After it Starts

With FF not running, I'll be using my computer and FF will open to an empty page... and maybe 30 seconds later it will close. This happens at random times. I've looked through Sync & Auto Update settings and do not see any controls established by FF that would allow it to run autonomously. Any ideas?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode,

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to Submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Non of the crash reports were from today and it was today that the restart occurred... Its happened in the past randomly, but I cannot remember if a crash occurred and the browser automatically starting on the same day.

I've called for more help.

When you started in Safe Mode, did you have any problems?

The ones you mention are from today, are the ones I opened today which did not have a BP value.... they were not found on Support site... when I clicked on them again, they were on the Support site... so they 'transmitted' today but were from past crashes. I verified that by looking at the date on them in Safe mode before clicking on them.

As for the browser, I never said I had a problem running the report. My question is "Why does the browser start/stop on its own at random times in the day? it shows a blank page, and then within 30 seconds the browser closes again". Is this a sync function? I've never had any browsers which opened on their own and closed to maintain they status. Thats what background processes do.

Are you using ad-blocking add-ons? That could be an ad opening, and the blocker closing it.

FF was NEVER open. It started on its own, stayed open for 30 seconds and then closed. FF was never running. Thats the point.
