Two identical spam emails came in, and I deleted both from my Inbox. Both had attachments. Deleting them moved them to the Trash folder. When I went to the Trash folder, I found both emails had been combined into one file. Is that "threading"? I don't want any emails to be combined together EVER. Previously I had checked the "Unthreaded" box in Settings; so if this was threading, why did it happen?
Another question: I couldn't find anything to do with this combined file but to delete it. Did the act of deleting it also delete the attachments, which probably contained viruses?
This "threading" business has been going on for years now. I always check the options that supposedly disable it, but then it keeps happening.

Hello, I have the latest version of Thunderbird. I have a problem for 2 weeks and every day I'm working to solve this problem. I have 17 accounts and Thunderbird shows me only 15 accounts. It hides 2 yahoo accounts. If I add other not yahoo account, there are no problems, I can add them. But if I add a yaoo account, Thunderbird doesn't show it/them on Unified folders. I see them only on All folders. Thanks for your help.

Hello! All the messages in the sent folder have been lost. When I use webmail, all the messages appear normally. I sent a test message from Thunderbird 151.0 (64-bit) / Windows 10 (64-bit) and the message does not appear anywhere in Thunderbird, but I can see it in "webmail". I added the same email account to TB on another PC and I have the same problem. I have deleted this specific email account from TB and reinstalled it, but the problem persists. In Outlook (iPad and PC) it works normally. Other email addresses of the same domain work normally everywhere. The email server provider cannot help me and claims that there is a technical problem on my side. Is there anyone who has any idea on how to solve this particular problem? Thank you.

I have TB version 140.11.0esr (64-bit) running on Win 10. I have multiple accounts and each is set to check for new messages every 10 minutes (nothing else is ticked under "Server Settings). Everything is ticked under "When new message arrives" (and default sound is used).
When new messages were available to download, TB used to play alert sound (and I would know to download new messages) but now TB is sounding (the new messages) alert every time it checks for new messages even if there are NO new messages to download! How do I revert to the alert ONLY being sounded when there ARE new messages to download?

I had to reset my Windows 10 computer and lost all apps and files. I have attempted to download Thunderbird to replace the one that was lost. I had hoped to regain my old emails and files but that is beyond my abilities. I am a senior citizen [81 years] and have been using Thunderbird along with Earthlink mail [which has been recovered along with some of my emails] for over 25 years. I also recovered Mozilla Firefox [with my bookmarks]. Now I need to recover my Thunderbird account with my emails and files. There were many years of emails and files in Thunderbird. Earthlink mail sent me a link on my cell phone that only required me to touch it to install it on my Dell computer. I did not set up my computer many years ago and the man who did set it up is now deceased so I cannot go to him for help. If you can send me a link with which I can recover my thunderbird account along with my files and emails I would be eternally grateful. I'm using Thunderbird from a little time anmd I have a problem with "Unified Folders" After installing it, I added my 10 accounts one by one and found out a problem. Simply Thunderbird doesn't want more than 1 "yahoo" account. I can enter even 15 accounts and Thunderbird can manage all the accounts with "Unified Folders" without problems and I see all the accounts. But if I were to add another "yahoo" account, Thunderbird no longer handles it with "Unified Folders". In fact it disappears and I only see it again if I activate "All Folders". I can't understand why. Maybe I need to setup something on yahoo? Can I solve this problem? Thanks PS: I speak italian.

Recently tried to switch back to using Daily, but now I get authentication errors each time I start the program. It's always the following three errors in sequence: Authentication failure while connecting to server imap.gmail.com. The certificate for imap.gmail.com does not come from a trusted source. Non-overridable TLS error occurred. Handshake error or probably the TLS version or certificate used by server imap.gmail.com is incompatible.
I've tried getting rid of all of my saved passwords and even completely getting rid of the account and re-adding it. I've also tried completely disabling my VPN's service in Windows to see if that was somehow affecting it, but nothing.
I searched for and found messages in the folder and know the folder's name, but it is now apparently a subfolder of another folder I can't find.
