Thunderbird for Android Community Forum

I activated message synchronisation for 15 min. intervall. The first few syncs were working correctly (around 3), then I'm just able to sync manually. In the thunderbird app settings, I already activated the battery setting to not restricted (I'm using my phone in german, not sure if the translation is 100%). Before that, I was not even getting the first syncs. How is it possible to sync reliable in the set intervall?

Thunderbird has stopped receiving emails. I followed the instructions I found. restet cache, I have enough memory, hosting service account space is adequate, checked login credentials (I have been sending and receiving for months with no problems) restarted phone. I am getting no error messages.

This happened with my last email program and I installed Thunderbird after no one could find a problem.

i have thunderbird on my pc and i now have it on my android phone the accounts have transfered over with all of the folders but the contents of the folders are missing, they are still there on the pc can anyone help?

Before asking my question, I have to say that I have been extremely happy that Thunderbird introduced their app. for phones. Historically, I have had many problems with my desktop version, and even now there are days that I cannot send e-mails from my desktop, but that's a question for another time.

My question now is, am I somehow able to access my local folders that my son set up on my desktop (in order not to clog up my allowance), on my phone? The local folders are in the menu on my desktop, but not on my phone.

I was working with my own simple pop3 test server and noticed thunderbird also K-9 and even Gmail seem to send some unstandard commands to the server causing an error. FairEmail however works fine. The server is a simple pop3 for local testing can anybody explain why your email clients are not compatible with pop3 standards perhapse how you deviated from the standard?

Regarding replying previous email, I have tried several time to attach files or photos, but the app will be closed automatically. Do I need to do any settings for it?

However, for creating new email, there is no problem for attaching files.

I've recently downloaded thunderbird as I've been sick of outlook on Android for a long time. In general, I do prefer it a fair bit over outlook, however, the search function doesn't work at all.

Are there any workarounds for this or is it a bug that the Devs are in the process of sorting. I use the search function a lot with my emails, currently it's just not possible on Thunderbird at the moment.

Can't scan QR code from desktop to import settings(mobile). Upon opening Thunderbird for Android I'm shown a window that asks 'Already using Thunderbird on Desktop?' My answer: Yes! There is also a blue button that states 'Import Settings' in the afore mentioned window. I click on the Import Settings button as I have the QR code displayed on my desktop monitor. The next thing I see on my Android (Pixel Pro 10XL) is basically just a picture taking screen where it states: 'Align the QR code provided from Thunderbird Desktop' My problem: there is nothing to line it up with. No little 90' ticks used to outline the corners of a square, nothing. It just looks the same as if I were using the camera app (no little ticks outlining corners of square). So in this case there is nothing in which to line up.! I'm using Thunderbird 151.0 on my desktop and have successfully used the QR scanning on my phone in the past. I can't bypass this window as this is my first time using the app on my phone. Am I doing something stupidly wrong? Any help to resolve this problem would be awesome! Since a few releases, when composing a message and selecting text, the highlight color is invisible in light mode. In dark mode the highlight color is a light blue. Is there a way to change the highlight color in light mode? Thank you.

I like the platform but am frustrated that my inbound emails and inboxes are only retrieved every 15 minutes for it to check and synch? Can it be set up for immediate reveal of new messages and account synching?

I tried to connect to my personal outlook email account on a fresh installation of thunderbird mobile. The setup wizard gave the correct configuration as described in microsoft's official documentation. But the following error occured: Authentication unsuccessful, SmtpClientAuthentication is disabled for the Mailbox.

IMAP is enabled in microsoft's mail account settings on outlook.com.

I went out of the USA on May to Ecuador and Peru, and on the same day the Android version of Thunderbird stopped retrieving new email from the server. I have used Thunderbird pointed to the same server on Windows 11 and Android successfully for years. I thought it might be something to do with being out of the country, but now I'm back in the USA, and sync account on Android still does not retrieve new mail that has accumulated since May 4th. I've been following my email using a webmail access so I know there's lots of new mail. I've closed and reopened Thunderbird on the Android, and I've tried sync account with the webmail access closed. I have not yet tried Thunderbird on my windows 11 laptop because I'm still not home yet. Any suggestions welcomed, thank you for your help! Unified inbox. Have to delete messages twice (first time only marks them read).

When I delete a message from the Unified Inbox by swiping right (and confirming) it only gets marked as read and not deleted. Have to swipe right once more (and confirm) to make it disappear.

In the normal inbox it is deleted at the first swipe to the right.

Why does it only get marked as read at the first delete in the Unified inbox?

A bit annoying having to delete evey message twice in the Unified inbox.

Hi, I seem to be missing the send button in the Android app. (I do know that it's supposed to be the regtangular shape). When I compose a simple e-mail it is there. But when I want to reply a longer e-mail, it is missing sometimes. For now, I have found no pattern for when it is there and when it's not. I can't click on Alt or anything, since it's on a smart phone.

Hello, when I try to answer a message or forward an e-mail, both the attachment, send and more options buttons are missing. They are there when I compose a new e-mail. What can I do?

Hi Folks, I use, as do others I know, Thunderbird for Android. Recently it has decided that the SSL Certificate it accepts for fetching emails is not valid for sending and requires you to accept and make an exception for the certificate. Has anyone else found this? I have tested the certificate, provided by Lets Encrypt, on several servers all claiming SMTP, POP3 an IMAP offer valid certificates. Yet Thunderbird still claims it is a security threat. Can omeone off an answer please? I am currently helping others accept the certificate.

Thunderbird ofr Android is V18.0
