For about the last 2 months, when I either get a notification that an update is available or I manually check for updates, both Firefox and Thunderbird are stuck in "Downloading updates -- 0 bytes" on 2 Windows 11 computers. Eventually, like a half an hour to an hour later, the update downloads and I can install the update. This has been going on for 2 months now. As a 20 plus year user of Mozilla and also a long-time financial contributor, this problem going on for 2 months is getting old. And yes, I have checked my antivirus and firewall. Is Mozilla aware of the problem and is there a solution?

if i have text and copy that and want to paste in body of yahoo mail, it used to let me to paste now it doesn't however if i right click and select paste without formatting then it will paste it is strange as: it is not Yahoo as i can do that with Chrome however if i paste to google search bar in Firefox it will let me paste

I'm on WinXP and Win7; FF is there respectively on ESR 52.6.0, and 56.0.2.

First, all of a sudden all my legacy add-ons were disabled. Most of them ensure FF looks like it did ages ago, which is what I'm used to, and need, to function properly myself. They overall are no longer maintained or downloadable, hence the need to stay on lower browser versions as well.

Managed to fix that.

Then, last Fri, my webmail provider missed updating their security certificate. They seemingly later do, but I am left unable to access their website from FF on both machines, and Chrome on the XP. Disaster.

The error messages I get are, in FF:

[www.netaddress.com] uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported.

Error code: <a id="errorCode" title="SEC\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\_ERROR\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\_UNKNOWN\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\_ISSUER">SEC\_ERROR\_UNKNOWN\_ISSUER</a>

and in Chrome:

classic.netaddress.com normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Google Chrome tried to connect to classic.netaddress.com this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be classic.netaddress.com, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Google Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You cannot visit [classic.netaddress.com] right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

When running a SSL server test on their certificate it turned back: Chain issues Incorrect order, Contains anchor

No idea if that's relevant.

I tried just abt everything I was handed, could think of, or googled. Adding an exception included. Nothing works. Logically, the error should be on their end (w/ their old certificate, it all worked fine, now it doesn't), but somehow I keep being directed to that your root certificate having expired is the culprit.

Earlier today, I took the plunge and updated FF to 72.0.2 on the Win7 machine. (My webmail doesn't have full functionality on Chrome, so I was still very hampered in that regard there.) Now I can access the webmail -- but all my add-ons AGAIN are disabled. And what I did before to make the work does now NOT work anymore.

Can someone pls take me out of my misery? My whole existence is falling apart. I am already on 75 % (invisible) disability. Nothing works, least of all I. I am days behind on an already massively overburdened schedule. Not everyone can handle constant updates and their user interface being changed all the time. Some ppl are dependent on things looking and acting the exact same.

I'd like my add-ons back functional on the Win7 machine, and my webmail back -- INCLUDING the add-ons remaining functional, on the WinXP. Thank you.

I have asked this question once before, but was hoping I could get some help by asking again. The text on my screen will completely bug out, and I have no idea how to stop it. I will attach several images from this screen alone showcasing the issue. It occurs everywhere, including captions. Only Firefox has this issue on my computer. I have tried refreshing Firefox once, and it did not solve the problem.

Update 136.0.3 AND 136.0.4 - Updated, but each time the browser is closed (even after a system shut-down), it sticks with 'Being updated in another instance'. There is no other instance. Single user, Windows11-Pro, local user (not connected to one-drive or MS account). Just started this morning (27-Mar-25).

It eventually shows that it has updated, but still comes back the next time with message.

Successfully changed from 003 to 0.4, but the new 0.4 does the same thing.

Would really like to know what's going on, and fix it.

WHEN I open Firefox,Mozilla comes up with numerous tabs:Mozilla accounts twice. Settings comes up once. Get Support Moziila twice. 2 new tabs. does not display the scroll correctly on X.com. I get a prompt to add it to my I phone. I DID NOT Sign up for that because my account is blocked on my Phone.Essential add ons would not work. You added data from Windows10# Numbered list item

Some Firefox option is adblocking some links in Publishers Clearing House emails. The same emails work OK in Safari. There are no adblockers (now or ever installed) on this Mac. It's not the end of the world for me but it should be fixed for possible future use.

As creator of retroonline.net. We recently noticed Firefox have limited value size in IDB which Chrome and Edge do not have. This limitation prevents big games running on Firefox despite Firefox has the best performance on WASM. Will there be a proper way to change this limitation or plan to remove it?

I had a website open I wasn't using, and then, without prompting, a different website suddenly opened, replacing the website I was on. Both websites are in my bookmarks bar and used frequently, I literally wasn't touching my computer when it happened. I downloaded the new firefox update maybe an hour before this.

Also, why is support crowdsourced? Like, it seems a little ridiculous that I can't directly contact the people who work on this browser to inform them there's a problem with their browser. Like, I'm reporting the issue, but genuinely, what help is the suggestions of other users going to be when this seems like a bug, not something I can mess around with the settings to fix, y'know? Just seems weird a tech company is relying on their customers to do their job for them like this.

After the last Linux upgrade to 36.0.2 the password or user name hot links only work once. The first time the link is gray and will activate. The second time I try and use this feature the link is not gray and will not activate.

Every time this happens I have to close Firefox and reopen it. Then I get one more shot at auto loading a password before it stops working.

I have updated FF on four PCs to 136.0.3. On just one PC, FF launches to a small window which is completely non-functional. None of the visible controls do anything. I can't move the window but I can resize it but everything is greyed out except the search bar. I can type in the search bar but get no search.

I have read a number of similar posts, but these fixes do not work: I cannot toggle the full screen using F12, I cannot change the launch behavior by setting 'maximize' in the shortcut properties, Deleting xulstore.json (repeatedly) does not fix (I have no localstore.rdf), I have no access to any of the normal FF controls that would let me refresh or troubleshoot.

I could always reinstall, but thought I would ask first.

When watching a YouTube Livestream/Premiere and wanting to get to the most real time/current point by fast forwarding it, seems to work fine at first but then when it goes back to normal speed after a moment the stream cuts back randomly making you behind the actual current live timestamp again which can be annoying.

I tried the troubleshooting mode but it was still happening, other browsers i tried didn't seem to have this issue. Also happens only for YouTube, other streaming websites like Twitch work fine.

Mein Standard-Browser ist seit ewigen Zeiten Firefox Durch den baldigen Wegfall von Skype wollte ich Jitsi nutzen. Das funktioniert bis auf die Funktion Bildschirm teilen. Hier versagt der Firefox, während alle anderen Bowser es anstandslos machen. Wo ist hier das Problem? Wie lässt es sich lösen? Ist es nur eine Frage der Einstellung von Datenschutz und Sicherheit? I updated yesterday to Windows 11. Following that update,I had a few difficulties getting Firefox up & running. It seems to be OK now except for the Firefox icon appearing twice on my taskbar when I switch on my computer. Is there an easy solution? I am not technically skilled. Thanks for any guidance.
