For over a year when i go to download something it defaults to the downloads folder instead of asking me where I wasnt to download. I'm about fed up with FF. it's been a great 10 years but this issue along with 80% of my sites not loading or working will lead to me jumping ship. Please help!

I want to know how to stop URL autocomplete from taking me to a bookmarked we set that happens to have a similar spelling.

For instance, when I type “cat” a list populated with all urls starting with the word “catalog”. I do not want to search for a known url or I would select it from the drop down list. I want to search the word “cat”. I have to enter a blank space to search a single term but this is super annoying when your trying to quickly find content.

How can I adjust this so when I type a word, it will only search that word when I hit enter rather than jump to a saved url.

I'm amazed, just AMAZED I can't find the answer to this with a simple google search, or searching the questions here, and I re-worded my search several times. All the answers I could find, even chatGPT (I know it's not alway sup to date) told me to use this option even though I specifically told it it wasn't there, is anyone aware that sometimes the option isn't there? What gives? Not blaming anyone specifically, but this a really simple question, I'm I the first person it's ever happened to?

I'm trying to fix a sound problem where videos will not play, and this is a suggested step. The sound on youtube videos plays with Google Chrome, so it's not my sound drivers, just with firefox it doesn't play. One of the steps as well was the clear my info, I cleared everything except history, I wished there was a way to back those up, I'll look it up.

Starting firefox in safe mode doesn't fix the problem either.

This problem has just resurfaced. In a nutshell, when I type "Lost IMDb" or "Tyson Wiki" in the URL bar and hit enter, that would take me straight to that page of that site. So "Lost IMDb" and enter would take me here: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411008/

Now it takes me to random search results like so: https://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=lost+imdb

Similar to "I'm feeling lucky" Google search is what I want back. When FF got rid of "Keyword.URL" search, I had to use an add-on such as: Google Browse by Name search engine to get similar results. Now also that has stopped working lately.

Can anyone help me get that type of search result back please?

Win7 x64P , FF110.0 (64-bit) I am trying to change the image for a 'new tab' shortcut so I can recognize it visually , the only option I see is to select a URL for the image. (local image would be handy)

I uploaded image to drive.google & shared, inserted the link & save. But is shows just blank.
It shared it properly & tested when logout.

but its a share link & not really an image link.

I am on a unstable internet connection and while trying to download a large file it gets often interrupted. By default Firefox deletes the .part file and I am forced to again download from zero. Is there a config that I could change so Firefox keeps .part files so I could continue resuming the interrupted download?

Why again? After I reboot my pc and re-install firefox, I re-install back the Google Translate (GT) extension, it's not working like las time anymore.

It used to be I just press translate the entire website will auto translate..now after i reboot my pc and re-download latest Firefox, ur GT extension turned into shit. I add-on this extension 'To Google Translate by Juan Escobar' ...i use on the Chrome, no problem, I can translate the entire website. but I added back the same extension 'To Google Translate by Juan Escobar' in your Firefox it's different! WHY IS THAT? Pls view attachment. It used to be the same with firefox...what happened after the re-download to the latest version Firefox after rebooting my pc?

I've just noticed whilst writing a blog on wordpress that my firefox built in spellchecker is no longer working. It no longer works on wordpress. It no longer works on any other page, including this one. Here is an example sdhflakshfldfjl - included in the files below. Thanks in advance.

One of the main reasons I use Firefox is the ability to enter the address bar and press "Tab" to go to the next option instead of pressing the down arrow like in some other browsers. The problem I'm encountering is when I want to get to something further down the list, it's all of the sudden tabbing to this little 3 dot menu that has "Remove from history" and "Learn More".

I use this feature a lot to visit past pages for researching, so I'm wondering is this 3 dot menu new? Is there a way to disable it? I've attached a screenshot to hopefully more clearly describe what I'm talking about.

Hi: Is the World Wide Radio add-on a Mozilla approved, supported add-on ? I can find no way to address comments with them, nor seek support. All that said, I've grown to adore Mozilla's products even though I'm a newbie with all things digital; thanks so much. I am disabled and limited to disability income only; as such I can never afford to support monetarily to my satisfaction.. it is what it is. I do so appreciate the work done by so many contributors. I find that I do need more support to feel comfortable and proficient with all the Mozilla products. Currently I use the Firefox browser and add-ons / and Thunderbird as an email client. Citibank site does not allow my accounts to be shown(uploaded with my access field of ID and Password.... and always impossible to log in because it does not recognize my correct information as correct and sees it as false information...therefore does not recognize my ID and password and I am blocked out..

Also old information may not be deleted properly and causes confusion so site needs to be cleared of old useless information.

I loved Firebug and really miss it a lot. The one thing I have a had time with and having to "type manually" is when I select and element in Dev Tools related to CSS. When an element is highlighted and I click the + sign, it does not present the exact CSS code. See screenshot.

In Firebug, I could click that and the + sign and that same exact code would appear on the right. But it does not. It's some modified version and I always have to update the code.

If there something? Also, in Firebug, I could right click that element at the bottom and copy it. I cannot do that. It doesn't allow me to copy it.

This is really slowing me down and I don't like to use a lot of add-ons in the browsers. Thanks in advance.

Video download helper is installed but icon is missing from toolbar and cannot be found where I'm told to look when I google the problem (i.e., view/toolbars/customize). Nor can I drag it to the toolbar from where I find it when I look under triple bar/addons and themes in the upper right corner of the toolbar. Where else should I look to find it?

Each time I start my computer and launch FireFox I am greeted with the "Welcome" page as if it was the first time I launch it. My extensions do not load and I have to manually turn them off and on again for them to load properly. The permissions I gave them previously need to be reconfirmed.

It's as if FireFox doesn't remember me at all. It wouldn't be that problematic if not for the issue with the extensions.

I've searched far and wide and couldn't find any solution to my problem. If anyone has any tip I'd be grateful, I already forgot half of what I've already tried but I'll let you know.

after the latest round of updates, my extension tabs (upper right) for approved and secured extensions has vanished. there is one in particular that I want in the extension area (see image 1)

I found them tucked away in another tab (upper right corner) the jigsaw puzzle piece.

is there a way to put the extensions that I want back on the extension area (upper right corner of browser window)? (see image 2)
