Why am I not able to use my Google Search? I am not able to see the search and cannot type in it.

The google search box does not come up and therefore am unable to type in anything to search for a topic. If it isn't bookmarked or if I don't already know the website I can't search. This has been going on for several days. I tried upgrading but didn't fix and still says I'm not on the latest version of Firefox.
