why do my movies run like slide shows

when watching hulu tv,any thing selected to watch runs like a slow slide show.audio plays normal.the video runs very slow. have broadband 5 ,up gradeing to fastest 15. 12/23/2010. i think my pc is in order and up dated.it could be me or my pc i dont know.not all web sites act this way,but alot do.i have tried eveything i can think of ,i am new at this pc stuff.
