Dragged and dropped a message on the folder "Gmail", now it appears as if there's mail in there, even though there's none

Hi,

I attempted to drag and drop a message from the Spam folder of my Gmail account to my inbox, but I accidentally dropped it on the folder called "Gmail". Following an error message ("The current operation did not succeed"), the folder started displaying a number between brackets, as if there's new mail in there, despite the fact that this folder contains only other folders, not messages. I tried closing Thunderbird and deleting .msf files, to no avail. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird, tried repairing the folder and still nothing.

What I want to do is to get the number in brackets (on the left panel, highlighted in blue) to disappear. Since there are in fact no messages in the folder, methinks I only need to get Thunderbird to detect that.

Thanks for reading my message! I'll appreciate any help you can provide me with
