Hovering over links doesn't work anymore

On every browser I've ever used for all of my internet using life, including THIS browser, when you hover your cursor over a link, a cartoony hand appears and the link URL appears at the bottom. Very recently, I write on 7/27/26, this no longer works on Firefox. WTF?

It usually happens when Mac doesn't think the window is in focus (also sometimes accompanied by the colorful "traffic lights" buttons in the corner of the window being dim or monochrome) — something just might have gotten stuck in the windowing system of your macOS — does this also persist after you reboot your computer?

You could try to clear the start-up cache.

- Click the three horizontal lines (menu button) in the top-right corner. - Go to Help > More Troubleshooting Information. - Look for the Try clearing the startup cache section near the top right. - Click Clear startup cache... and restart the browser
