I asked this before but still it's not working.

Sometimes E-Mails shown in Thunderbird are missing 50% of the content (first 50%). Today 2 E-Mails got mixed up. So Thunderbird showed 2 E-Mails with the same content but different Subjects. So 1 was wrong. When I logged into my E-Mail Account then it was all ok there. So it must be a Thunderbird Problem or Server-IMAP Problem.

The Question is: How can I tell Thunderbird to re-download this email ?

I was told here this before: "right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button. Does that fix it?" Yes that does solve it but this mixes up the view in Thunderbird (columns are resetted), I don't want that.

Is there any way to re-download a specific email ? I really wonder why such a professionel e-mail program lacks such simple function.

-trying to get an outlook account into thunderbird on the older windows, I have (had to) manually configure thunderbird, - exactly as I have done, say, on Kmail android - server name: outlook.office365.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, OAuth2. Outgoing server smtp.office365.com, port 587, STARTTS, OAuth2...

->Immediate failure when I click on the Inbox with a message that the "IMAP server xxx@hotmail.com does not accept the authentication method. Please choose..." -I've tried all of the various offered authentications in the list -- no luck. I have provided screen shots if that might be helpful

Does anyone have the right approach or any way to connect on a 7/Vista machine???

My email host requires changes to connection settings (this is for an existing account), specifically to increase security but also specifying new incoming and outgoing server names.

I have meticulously copied the settings provided by the host for this purpose but Thunderbird will not (cannot?) connect to the server.

Thunderbird is not asking for my password, nor does the password appear in TB's 'Saved Passwords'.

So I tried 'Add Mail Account', entered all the new settings manually, but TB responds 'Incoming server already exists' (presumably because I had already changed the existing account settings?) - see screenshot.

Should I remove the existing account before trying 'Add Mail Account'? Although that would seem unlikely to work, since the existing account with the new settings does not connect.

Support from my email (and broadband) host has been practically useless, so I thought I would ask the wonderful brains on TB forum if they can give me any clue as to where things are going wrong?

We have been in touch with our broadband provider who say they are unable to help us and it is an issue with thunderbird. We haven't done anything to cause this to happen, they just stopped. For events with a reminder that have a specific duration (e.g., Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM), I receive notifications. However, when I create a full-day event and want to be reminded, for example, 1 day before, I don't receive any notification. Additionally, events with a reminder are not shown in bold in the calendar overview (whether they have a specific duration or are all-day events). Can you please help me?

You have a great EMAiL-software: Thunderbird. Why do you want to screw it and the user? Computer usage should be reliable. I have lost so many EMAiLs since you broke the EMAiL paths logic with threads. Why? Why did you want to make it complicated? I had a good filing system with Thurnerbird for years. Why did you have to break it? Why didn't you even make it optional, but mandatory?

How can I get the old EMAiL-filing back without the Thread-Paths? Please help!

I didn't ask this immediately, but during the years, I have lost so many important EMAiLs (again today), that now I ask.

Until about a month ago, this was working perfectly: whenever I would delete an email message on my cell phone that action would be passed along automatically and update my Thunderbird desktop account.

And now it isn't working any more. So I have to delete unwanted messages twice. And I get a lot of messages.

Please tell me if you know of any system changes that may have cause this setup to stop working, and if possible, how I might restore this key functionality. Thanks!

Some messages do not appear in Inbox, and can not found by Filter (Ctrl-Shift-k). However, when I use Search (Ctrl - k): 1) They are found and 2) the Location is given a… (tuilleadh eolais)

Some messages do not appear in Inbox, and can not found by Filter (Ctrl-Shift-k). However, when I use Search (Ctrl - k): 1) They are found and 2) the Location is given as ... Inbox. These are recent messages.

How do I know they are there? I occasionally use a Webmail interface to access the account that Thunderbird is linked to and all messages are there. Also, when I get chided by others for not responding to their emails, I go looking.

I have tried Properties | Repair Folder on the Inbox.

Account | Synchronization and Storage settings are:

    Keep messages in All Folders on this Computer
    Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age 
    Don't delete any messages
    Always keep starred messages
