Thunderbird and connecting to hotmail very shaky and mostly unsuccessful

I am having issues getting thunderbird to connect to my 2 hotmail accounts over the last week or two. According to isitdownrightnow.com, outlook has been down for about 200 days and is this really the case? My wife is not having any issues with her hotmail accounts, but I am. I have tried several different settings and attempts and did seem to have it setup, only for it to fail again and again.

This is getting ridiculous. I am using Windows 10 Pro and I am using Thunderbird 150.0.1 (64-bit). I am using Avast Antivirus and Comodo Firewall, but my gmail and yahoo mails are just fine. If anyone here has any information that I am missing or maybe I am making some kind of mistake in my setup, I would really appreciate any and all help or suggestions. I have a shared family calendar and a private google account calendar that is separate. I tried importing some events from the family calendar to the private calendar. I created a .ics file, and started using the calendar import function in Thunderbird on my Ubuntu laptop. I found the file, selected it, and filtered for current and future events. I then clicked the confirm import button, and the screen changed to a view progress screen. This screen correctly shows the target account, the source file, the import type, and the number of events, so I think it's correctly set up. The progress bar shows "Importing... 0%", and there it appears to stall, consistently after several attempts. I saw another thread that talked about read-only calendars, but I don't see a setting, either at the Thunderbird level or at the calendar level that might be restrictive in that sense. Is there a preparatory step or a setting I'm overlooking?

I have had to replace my laptop and am trying to set up my new one with an existing outlook account on the new device.

It is a Windows 11 device.

I have used the exact server settings etc from my old lap top for the outlook account but get a variety of error messages.

I have explored the use of the Account Hub and also switched that off/on. Same situation.

I attach five screen captured images so far. The first is the version of TB. The second is the window that appears when the account tries to connect and thirdly the small pop up that appears bottom right hand corner of laptop. The remaining two show the server settings and that they passed the connection test.

Other email accounts (gmail & yahoo) have both been set up on the new device and work well.

The account worked on the old laptop and continues to do so. I have set up the outlook account with, to the best of my knowledge, the same settings. The old lap top was a windows 10 device. The new laptop does not have a third party antivirus on it.

I am baffled as to what is happening and what I should do next. Any advice would be great.

Hello. Impossible to connect to an existing Google account. Neither to the "full" account, nor to the Contact list nor to a Calendar of an existing account. Neither to a "private" account, not to a "workspace".

When trying to connect to a Contact list, after the Oauth window and the authorisation to share data from Google accounts, the app answer "Connexion impossible" (I am a French user).

When trying to connect to Calendars, Google's window asking authorisation to share data comes back after clicking "authorise".

I am running the latest versions of Thunderbird and Linux mint 22.3, and for the fourth time files are not being read correctly after an update. I store email files on a separate SSD drive (just in case the main drive crashes). I have just updated to the latest version of Tbird. After every update it loses the connection to Local Folders. When I relink, it reads some folders but not others. I can see the missing folders via a file manager, but Tbird will not/cannot read them all. I have tried to relink several times, but no joy. If I move Local Folders to the main drive, will that solve the problem? Is it a Linux problem? Or a browser problem? Do I need to switch browsers?

Hi I am a theme girl and have tried many over time. I had never used the Dynamic Theme which is supposed to change from day to night along with what it's doing outside. It was kind of bland (sorry to the creator) so I tried to change it to another one and it worked just fine. When I came back to my computer it had changed back to the Dynamic one again. Again I changed it then it was back again. Yesterday I actually removed it from my list of addons and now it's back again. How do I stop it? Thanks for any help. ♥

I am running Version 140.10.1esr (64-bit) on Windows 11 and would like to subscribe to my Calendar on Nextcloud. Yesterday, in Nextcloud, I set up an app-specific password and saved that to the Password Manager in Thunderbird. I also saved the app-specific password to my Bitwarden vault. The Calendar synced just fine.

However, today, when I booted up Thunderbird, it said that it needed the password for the Calendar. I entered it in, and then looked to see if the password was in the password manager; it was.

What's going on here and how do I fix it?

OK, so I see where others Thunderbird users have previously asked about why e-mails are disappearing from their Thunderbird junk folder but have a quite different problem. So, when I go to my junk folder momentarily all the mails are present, but then right before my eyes 2 or 3 just simply disappear! They truly disappear and are nowhere in any folder on Thunderbird account -trash, archives, sent, etc. I did the obvious and Googled and there are some informative posts about Thunderbird settings for time-outs and filters and automatic deletion - BUT, BIG BUT all my settings conform already to all their suggestions on these various web posts. So at my wits end I ask the folks in the community if they have any explanation as to why e-mails in junk folder on Thunderbird literally just disappear in front of me. I would be greatly appreciative of any suggestions.

I tried to create a filter adding as personalized condition "Reply-to" that Thunderbird saves in the msgFilterRules.dat as: condition="OR (\"reply-to\",contains,@miracel001.entrydns.org)"

There is no way to get any filter working, do you have a suggestion on how to fix this issue ?

Good afternoon!

We use Thunderbird for our business across several computers. However, on the main computer, we've suddenly received blank tabs at the top of the page, as if an open email thread is there. There are about ten or so of these blank open tabs, and you cannot exit them. The X button doesn't work on them, nor does Ctrl + W.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software, and we've tried a shutting everything down and restarting the computer, but nothing seems to get rid of the tabs.

Is this an issue others have experienced and, if so, what's the best remedy for it?
