Hi, this usually means that you are using Firefox from your Linux distribution and in that case Linux software management is handling the updates.

Firefox cannot handle its own updates.

This is misleading when the official Linux builds of Firefox from Mozilla (www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/) can handle its own updates from Mozilla just fine like the official builds from macOS and Windows can. Just need to make sure the Firefox folder has read/write permissions for the user to get updates.
