How should I deal with this?

Site works for me. see screenshot Appears you may have an add-on blocking something which is why a full browser screenshot would be more helpful. Did you try Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#search104
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin), always make sure such extensions do not block content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:
You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings), click the padlock icon (Clear cookies and site data) for the domain in the selected tab.
"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"
"Clear the Cache":
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.
- switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.
- click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages like blocked content.
This can be caused by extensions like I don't care about cookies, I still don't care about cookies or uBlock Origin with "EasyList – Cookie Notices" filter list enabled in the Annoyances section.
Sorry, I thought the message said it all, but I should have added more info.
I have Ublock. That alert specifies the Easy List Cookie filter. I don't want to eliminate it, just want to know what adjustment to make, if there is one, to solve the problem
Tried everything suggested, including disabling Ublock on that page, but nothing worked,
Had the same problem in Chrome, but disabling Ublock allowed the page to load.
I'm not having anything like it happening anywhere else.

It happens. There should be some setting in Ublock to allow or ignore the site(s) or items of your choice. When Ghostery shows a number of things being blocked, I can look at the details to allow what's needed for the site to work. see screenshot Show us what's being blocked by Ublock.

CNN was still blocked in Troubleshoot/Safe Mode, even after clearing site cookies?
Does it still happen in a new profile without signing into sync? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.

I have a basic profile template I use for custom construction. It's not technically "fresh". No addons, just the toolbars situated and ready to use, my current session and some preset about:config stuff.
So I first added Ublock, but left it with the default settings and filters. CNN loaded, no problem. I then added numerous addons, checking CNN along the way. All of a sudden, it was blocked again.
After that, I went to safe mode again. Still blocked. See image.
If Ublock is enabled, Chrome blocks CNN.

Please explain further. I thought the objective of Troubleshoot/Safe Mode was precisely to test the browser without addon interference, as in a "fresh browser" state. Or, by "disable" extensions, did you actually mean "uninstall"?noel_envode said

If this was a CNN problem, I wouldn't be concerned, but others here can reach the website no problem.

After disabling all extensions, you may need to clear site cookies and do a hard refresh with Ctrl+F5.
