I have been using lastpass for a few years now with no issues, but recently the firefox addon has stopped working. I have uninstalled/reinstalled firefox, refreshed it, deleted the Mozilla AppData directory, removed my antivirus/firewall (BullGuard), and tried everything I can think of and it still won't sign in. It works fine on chrome, and on Firefox on another profile on this PC, but I cannot work out why it won't work on my main profile. I have contacted LastPass, and they have exhausted all their support and referred me here.

Basically, I can put my sign in information in, click 'Log In', the dialog disappears, but doesn't do anything, if I click on the icon again, it's back on the log in dialog.

Many thanks for any help anyone may be able to provide.

Hello, It work fine with another profile of Firefox... Try to restart FF with add-on disabled https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Or disable your extensions one by one

Hope this help!

Hi, thanks for your reply, I seem to have missed out that I have tried on a clean firefox profile (both through profile manager and through deleting the mozilla appdata directory and reinstalling firefox), with no other addons installed, and it still doesn't work on my main user account.

Hello, It's possible that another person - a friend can be logged with your credentials ? You are logged in your Firefox account on another device? If this is the case Log out and try again.

This happens whether I am signed in to firefox or not. As far as I know I'm not signed in on any other device. It is set to remember history.

I have another solution how about using Keepass? It's self install or portable and with it you can keep on USB and make master password for it as well. I use Keepass on my system and it can log into any of my Browser and input my login/pswd without issues.

Hello, Ok it seems to me that the problem it's not firefox but your main account. Are you sure that this is the account used to sign-in on LastPass? You have only a last pass extension or you have also the app installed ?

I use the lastpass extension on firefox & chrome on PC and laptop, and iPhone. I don't have the app installed on the PC. Works fine everywhere except FF on main user acct, but it would be a real pain to migrate everything to a new user acct...

Unfortunately I have years of data in lastpass, and use it to sync a PC, laptop and iphone, so I really don't want to change service.

Have you looked at this? https://www.guidingtech.com/11787/transfer-passwords-lastpass-to-keepass-right-way/

This is just another solution to look at. I was like you trying to figure out where all the notes of logins and passwords went to and needed a portable solution when using a USB stick and that was how I stumbled on Keepass. And now everything I do I can sync the database to my Desktop when plugged in so any changes will update for both. That was why I liked it I can have a Desktop installed and a USB when I am at work so I can log in and not carry around notepads of logins. Also I have a MasterPassword for the Keepass database so if you don't know it you won't get access to it. And trust me my database on there is huge as well. It was a godsend that I found this as my notepads were getting all ragged and destroyed and losing logins wasn't a good thing.

I still like the syncing to the cloud, and my phone, so I will have to rebuild my user account on this PC if I can't solve it

Just a food for thought LastPass was hacked before being as it was cloud storage. And that won't be the last time they will do it again. Anything on the Cloud is inviting hackers to come get it and LastPass is a Gold mine for them. There's been enough news of Cloud service getting hacked and they failed to tell their users until they are outed in the News. At least with KeePass it's not cloud but on USB or Computer preventing online theft of your multiple logins. But in the end this is just another solution to how to keep your logins safer. Oh and I don't have to rebuild my system to just keep it working as well. And with LastPass on the cloud how do you know they aren't looking at it as well? They can and do but you will never know. But this is me my logins are mine and not up for Cloud servers to serve up to whom can get it or someone internal to abuse that access.

I thougt I had fixed this, but apparently not. I uninstalled firefox and manually removed all references to it and lastpass from the registry and user/program folders, then reinstalled and it worked. Then last week I started getting the 'can't contact login servers' again and it was working in offline mode, and today it's back to exactly how it was before, just won't log in. Think I might have to change to chrome as my main browser.
