FB games will not load since aug 2017 update Why?
I am beyond frustrated that I am unable to play FB games since Firefox updated on my browser today. Is there something that I need to do so that the Flash Player will work again or is it something else?
"Please note that newer versions of Firefox require you go through a series of steps to activate the Flash Player. You can read more about their update here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/55"
We now recommend that Mac users use Safari and that PC users use IE/Edge.
Alternatively, we at Jam City love Chrome so you could certainly use that as well! Install here: https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html

Which Aug 2017 update?
There were 4 in August - 55.0 - then 55.0.1 to fix certain issues that were discovered with 55.0 that somehow weren't caught in beta testing - similar for both 55.0.2, then 55.0.3 - which is the current release version. Haven't seen 3 "chemspill" releases so quickly in quite awhile.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).
"Clear the cache":
- Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
Other players of Jam City games have indicated that even after giving permission to the site to run Flash, they get the same message, as though Jam City is not interested in supporting Firefox users.
As a test, you could temporarily give ALL sites advance permission to run Flash to see whether that works with Jam City. Here's how:
Open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Find "Shockwave Flash" on the right side and change its global permission from "Ask to Activate" to "Always Activate".
Warning: This lets Flash ads and trackers run, too, so I don't recommend leaving it this way after the test.
Reload the Jam City page bypassing the cache (Ctrl+Shift+r, Mac: Command+Shift+r), or navigate back to it in the usual way. Any improvement?

Since you run a fairly recent version of Windows, Jam City would be happy to see you again running Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. Please feel free to let them know this is not what you want.
I am not going to open IE to play certain Facebook games, specifically Jam City games. when there are no other issues with Mozilla. Its like not getting CBS because there is an issue between the network and the cable provider. I'll just be changing the channel ie. finding new games.
