Some pages with embedded video won't run. Youtube is fine.
Dell Latitude running Windows Vista SP2 Using Firefox, I was watching the video embedded within the page at http://www.history.com/shows/the-curse-of-oak-island/season-3/episode-6 All was palying correctly, Windows was in the process of installing the last 10 updates. Titles of each began with Security Update Windows NET Framework,.....Vista... each had a different KB#
Firefox announced update available, I clicked on that also. Both ran in the background while I watched the video. When BOTH updates requested to restart, I paused the video play and clicked on the restart now.
Once restarted I went back to the page to resume the video. It won't play. The page fills leaving a black video area, the centered video frame turns light grey and shows the 'H' logo as the 'feed' is connecting (I assume) Then this light grey area changes to dark grey. Sometimes the area flashes a gold play symbol then immediately the whole area goes black. It does not play the video.
I've deleted cockies, retried, no change. Uninstalled each of the ten MS updates individually and between each tried the history page again, no change.
Checked all add-ins looking for conflict, none found.
Tried Mozilla Support/Fix Common problems, nothing found applicable.
Ran the test "Video for Everybody" It runs fine. Also ran Quicktime version, that also ran fine. Youtube videos run fine.
Beginning to think I need to uninstall Firefox and install LAST version, but not sure how to do this without losing all Bookmarks and passwords.

EXTENSIONS,, not Add-Ins. No add-ins. Suspended Ghostery and page loads, renders and runs correctly with NO sripting errors.
This only started with this last Firefox update, so I will have to learn to live with it.

Now I have to find the 'Solved' button.

If you use extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
Restarted Firefox/Safe. The History page loads but now pops up a scripting error. Select 'Stop' and the page loads and plays correctly.
Will have to start disabiling add-ins to see which one causes my problem.
Will repost once I know which one it is.
