Whenever I go to StumbleUpon, the pages render and then go blank. I can use any other browser (IE, Chrome) and the pages work just fine.

Here is an example page: http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/9Dzlxl/:1Wj9Us7Qp:eLqvL+TS/www.distractify.com/mariamsharia-animals-forgot-to-animal-1385403358.html

I checked out the link. I think the web page has problems. I have my settings to not let web pages reload or re-direct. I allowed the page to reload three times, then I stopped. After 30 seconds, the page loaded for real. It took a while because the page is full of animated gifs.

Nice. Very nice.

A lot of content on that page is loaded via XHR (JavaScript), so make sure that you aren't blocking JavaScript.

If you use extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
