How widespread is the problem within Firefox or on your system? Does this occur when typing in:

  • search boxes and forms in web pages
  • Firefox's address bar
  • other applications

In case Firefox has a stuck indicator for a key, could you vigorously tap each of these several times while viewing a page in Firefox: Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Window key

Did you try close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
