When I compose email messages, I want them to be plain text only. In older versions of Thunderbird, this worked fairly well, but in new versions, even though the message is sent as plain text, it is not the same text that I type into the editor.

For example, if I begin a line with "> " (greater-than space) to indicate a quotation, Thunderbird will add another space at the beginning. I once tried to send "-- " (dash dash space, a signature marker) in a message, only to find that Thunderbird replaced the space with a non-breaking space.

I didn't ask for that. I want the content of the message that I send be exactly what I type, nothing more, nothing less. No reflowing, no subtle character alternation. Is there a setting to disable those mis-features?

I copied my profile because I had to reinstall TB. When I copied it back, I got all my emails but not my address books.. How can I get these back? Also, I got my emails back but it didn't include the number of each. How do i get these back?

I've been searching for a few days for a solution to Yahoo Mail not downloading to Thunderbird, I've seen other people with the same problem, I've tried different solutions, but at this point I've given up. My Gmail is still downloading but I have to check my Yahoo Mail via a browser. What gives? Why did this happen in the first place?

I have Windows 11, I've updated Thunderbird.

Upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 a couple months ago. Since then, TB freezes nearly every time I am composing an email. "Help About" says TB is up to date. Remedies? Or do I have to wait for a new version?

Every time I want to print an email, the default copy number on my printer menu is shown as 2.

I don't know how, when or why this change [from 1 copy to 2 copies] happened.

I wish to 'reset' the default copy number to 1, so I don't accidentally print a second copy and waste ink, etc.

When I want to print documents stored on my PC, the copy number field on the printer menu is blank, allowing me to enter the number of copies I want - so the issue appears to occur only when I print emails.

I am using the latest TB build, 144.0.1and have only the British dictionary as an extension, no themes.

Occasionally TB will hang when launched and the Windows event viewer will show this....(added image)_

as noted, this only happens when the email client is launched and will not happen each time. I have tried without the dictionary, as it is so random it can take a while to occur, but that does not seem to make a difference.

I work in a small traditional community fishmonger shop in Scotland and we use Mozilla. I am trying to find a basic instruction manual i could print out handy for us (we are a small team and only i have experience in Microsoft emails etc but this is different ) and i am just trying to help us understand some basics priority being for email, contacts and folder daily management.

We receive a mix of online orders, customers, suppliers and much “junk” noise emails so i’m trying to help us figure out simple and easy to set things moving forward after some staff changes that impacted our “flow”😊

Right after typing my email address and pressing "Continue", Thunderbird crashes. I wanted to give it a try after many years of not using it, but then it crashes right at the start.

Since installing Windows 11, the right click "send to/mail recipient" hasn't worked with Thunderbird. I located the "send to folder", selected and opened "mail recipient", and selected Thunderbird. Now the "mail recipient" option has completely disappeared from the send to drop down menu. Can anyone help please?

Hi there! The reminder function for termin (for example three days before) doesn't work anymore, but before it works allways. I couldn't find the reason therefore.

since Oct 31 Thunderbird has not been able to connect to AOL / verizon email server to receive emails. I made no changes. I am able to send email so the connection is good that way.

Message is "login to server pop.verizon.net with user name xxxx failed

Send and receving on phone works ok

For some reason after the last update I have been getting multiple inbox.conf(*) folders getting created (see image). I have not found a way to remove these folders. Is this a bug or a setting issue?

Six emails I received on 11/3 had their body content totally replaced by a photo contained in an unrelated year old email I had received. Both immediately before and after, all is working normally. I don't know what caused this, nor could I find any way to recover the missing content.

Thunderbird is not receiving incoming emails. I get a window that says " Login to server pop.centurylink.net with username nonnox15@centurylink.net failed. See image below. This occurs frequently but usually will download after a while. But today I can't get the messages to come in. I Can go to my firefox browser and get my messages from the centurylink website, but I prefer to use Thunderbird. Any help would be appreciated.

I can put the password in the window that pops up, but I still can't get the messages to download.

Hi to all.

I've had one of my TB configured email accounts disabled so I cannot login to it. How can I avoid TB to show me again and again that it's not able to connect that account? I just want to keep the already received/sent emails there in TB but it goes on and on showing that message even if I don't work on that account via TB anymore.

I've tried to unflag the option to check new messages from the Server options, but it didn't work. I've also tried to move all the emails/folder on local folders via TB interface, but this was made just partially possible because TB tried to login possibly due to some still-not-downloaded old messages which where made impossible to move. Moving all to a local folder will let me delete the account from TB and set me free from that annoying message which is also causing TB to be resource consuming, I don't know why, so that the laptop fan goes crazy (in such case, quitting TB causes the laptop fan to be back in peace in seconds).

hello Suddenly 2 days ago, when opening Thunderbird, I have a message saying : the connection from the server imap failed with the user name name@neuf.fr I tried twice to re-install Thunderbird and I also tried twice to change my password : neither was successfull But when I go to internet on the sfr mail site, the connection is successful... I just installed Thunderbird on a new Win 11 Pro 64-bit install. I have some Message filters that seem to be working. However, I have a local folder a_Name and under that I have sub folders Problems, jokes, plus some more. At first, I tried to drag messages to them, and they disappeared. Then I tried to use the file move command still disappeared, then I tried to use the copy command. That worked until I tried to move a message to the folder, and everything disappeared. I have now lost some irreplaceable emails. I have used Thunderbird for years. What gives with this, and how can I fix it?
