When I close firefox I had option to save the current window and tabs or not now when I close firefox closes and next time I open it it opens to the last home page setting. Not the last set of open tabs. I want it back the old way !!! And quit changing it it worked great the new stuff I do not want. WHY do you keep braking a good thing???

You can make Firefox Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.18, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1, look like 3.6).

History Menu -> (at the bottom of the menu) RESTORE PREVIOUS SESSION

This feature is activated when ALL Firefox Tabs and Windows have been Closed by pressing ALT + F +X (File Menu -> Exit / Quit Firefox). Now when you Startup Firefox and go to History Menu and select RESTORE PREVIOUS SESSION, ALL your Previous Tabs and Windows will Open.

Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows.
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
