I also have this problem. It is said to be related to spywares, but I used anti-malware scanning programs and they showed no results. I also have this when I disable all extensions and plugins. Finally, I installed Firefox "nightly" 6.0a (it couldn't be worse...) and it is rock stable ! The "unstable" alpha version of Firefox is far more stable than the "stable" one !
