Use the X-Note addon, and has worked fine for ages, but reinstalled my system, and now the font for XNote is almost unreadable - Cursive, of some sort.. How can I change this? Thanks.

I notice that "X-Note" hasn't been compatible with Thunderbird for many years. Are you referring to "XNote++"?

You might find someone here who uses this and can advise you, but strictly speaking, this is an add-on issue, not a Thunderbird issue, so you might be better off asking the developer:
