How can I stop firefox from autorefreshed and autoreload the page I am reading in my apple Iphone or on my Ipad. For some pages with lots of advertising is quite annoying.

Unfortunately, Firefox for iOS doesn’t currently have a built-in setting to stop websites from auto-refreshing or reloading. The refresh behavior usually comes from the site itself (often through ads, scripts, or session timers), not from Firefox.

That said, here are a few things you can try to reduce how often it happens:

1. Keep the tab active iOS automatically unloads background tabs to save memory, which can make pages reload when you return to them. Try keeping the page you’re reading in the foreground or use Reader View (see below).

3. Block heavy ads and scripts You can install content blockers like Firefox Focus or other Safari-compatible blockers via iOS Settings → Firefox → Content Blockers. These can cut down on ads that trigger auto-refresh.

4. Keep Firefox updated Make sure you’re using the latest version from the App Store — newer versions improve how tabs are kept active in memory.

Why it happens: On iPhones and iPads, iOS manages memory aggressively — when you switch apps or tabs, iOS can “unload” a page to free resources. When you return, Firefox must reload it. Unfortunately, no browser on iOS can fully prevent that because of Apple’s system limitations.
