Expanding and collapsing folders when dragging a message
I am using Thunderbird 128. I have some folders that have subfolders in my folder pane. To keep all the top-level folders in view, I prefer to keep all the folders collapsed (so that their subfolders are not immediately visible). However, when I want to move an email message into a subfolder of a top-level folder, I now have to expand the folder, drag the message into the subfolder, and then collapse folder to declutter the view on separate steps. It is a bit of a nuisance.
I remember that, at some point, the folders were expanded when a message is dragged on top of them and then even collapsed after the message is moved to a subfolder. I cannot find any settings to do this at this point. Is this still possible? And, if so, how do I achieve it?

A small correction. Currently, a folder is expanded when a message is dragged hovering on top of it, and then I can drag and drop the message into one of its subfolders. What does not happen is the collapsing of the folder back after the move.
So, what I meant to ask was whether it is possible to set the folders automatically to collapse after a message is moved to a subfolder by drag-and-drop.
Thanks.
