Hopeful for solution, multiple posters have asked about issue without responses

I have used links to websites added to home screen. These shortcuts recently stopped working. If I use bookmark on Firefox Android it opens. If I copy url to Chrome and create a shortcut link on home screen it works. Is there a Firefox setting that changed? I've used these shortcuts without problem on this phone until past week or so.

I'm on Android 11 updated to Oct 2022. Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G. Firefox 107.1.0 with "add shortcuts to home screen" enabled.

How long after using "Add to Home screen" to add the site to the Android home screen does the shortcut stop working?

URL shortcuts from Firefox that I've had on my home screen for several months on this phone stopped working maybe a month ago. As described the urls work from Firefox Android bookmarks and will save as working home screen Shortcuts if pasted into Chrome and saved to home screen. It seems to be a change in last few updates to Firefox Android. I've used the home screen Shortcuts on three phones over several years. Now it doesn't work.
