Hi homwork.ali, there are numerous VPN services. I suggest researching which service you trust and then checking how they integrate. Some run at the system level and handle all traffic from your computer, while others may integrate individually into the browser and leave other traffic unaffected.

As a starting point for research, you could check (listed in alphabetical order):

Each has a different opinion.

If you are in the US area then you can also look at Firefox Private Network (currently in beta).

TunnelBear VPN joined McAfee so that something to consider in using it.

NordVPN had a breech that they did not reveal and came to light because of another party. They doing poorly with the PR on this afterwards was more controversy compared to the very limited in nature breech itself.

Private Internet Access or PIA was acquired by Kape Technologies for $95M on Nov 19, 2019. Some like Linus Media Group is in talks with PIA on whether to continue or not. They had TunnelBear as a VPN sponsor previously but dropped them after TunnelBear joined with McAfee.

Related Question: Could not find how to start a new thread. I have two Gmail accounts, both set up in Thunderbird. both connect fine in normal internet mode, but one does not work with VPN turned on. (I have PIA) Cannot find anything on google on this that works.

Are there any plans to make Thunderbird a "Trusted app with google" so that google does not keep blocking access when a VPN is turned on. I wish that software vendors would cooperate with each other...

Hi Scott, it's a little confusing: In the new layout, under Get Help there's an "Ask the Community" header which is a link to start a new question, but the links below it do NOT start a new question.
