As an experiment, could you temporarily hide your Firefox data folder from Firefox and see whether Firefox can create a new one and start up? Here's how:

Paste the following shortcut path into the Windows 10 system search box and press Enter to launch it in File Explorer:

%APPDATA%\Mozilla

That should expand into the hidden folder:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla

Right-click the Firefox folder and use Rename to change it to FirefoxOLD (or Firefox1, etc.).

When Firefox starts, it should determine that it doesn't have a data folder and create one. Will it operate?

Thank you. No help - same behavior as before meaning nothing. Cannot open Preferences and no internet access.

Another user reported that a policy in the Symantec Endpoint Protection security software caused a similar behavior (1264492). By any chance do you have that software running on your system?

I use Norton Security but disabling it did not solve the problem.

Some other users reported problems with Win10 1903 + Firefox 67 or 68, but I don't see a clear pattern or proven solution. Hopefully another volunteer will have a theory.
