How do I change the disk on which FF V39.0.3 (64 bit) stores its cache?

I am concerned about using my C: drive (a SSD) for the FF cache. I read that SSDs wear out from too many write cycles and I stream audio all day long in my office. I have looked and either I can't find how to change the cache drive from C: to D: (or possibly can't understand what I am reading). My D: drive is a 2 TB ordinary hard drive. Though I store few items on it, there is a lot of empty space. Instructions please or a link to the instructions. Thanks.

Are there any other FF files used as frequently as the cache that I also should move?

Generally, is moving the cache as described a useful precaution to keep the SSD running?

I just noticed that I might have a terminology problem with my question. Am I looking for a cache location or a buffer location or perhaps both?

Hi, Glad that is just a typo for Firefox version number..... 5yrs and my SSD's are working just fine and delete the cache all the time. This would be more of a interest to you to change : I just followed this and increased more as I do not use History or sessions :

As to moving the cache you would have to reinstall to another drive with a full version installer using custom settings.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thanks for information I did not have. I will try your fix tomorrow.

You can create a new string pref named browser.cache.disk.parent_directory on the about:config page to set the location of the caches and other temporary files. You need to create a new folder on beforehand to be used (never use a folder that already has files).

Thanks. Very helpful.
