PDF won't open
I have tried EVERYTHING to get PDFs to open in firefox on my mac. They worked about 6 months ago, but then stopped. I have tried changing the application they open in Preferences, applications, I have tried adjusting add-ons, I have tried to enable the pdf viewer. I am using Firefox 41.0.1. I also run Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, version 11.0.12. HELP! I had to start using safari, but now that is making my battery burn up on my mac so I'd like to go back to firefox but can't if I can't get the PDFs to open.

What is the setting for Portable Document Format (PDF) in "Firefox > Preferences > Applications"?
Is the built-in PDF Viewer enabled or an application like Preview?

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the Plugin Check site.
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions. If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow Update button or a red Update now button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each yellow or red button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.
This didn't help at all. All pdf plug ins are updated.

So, I went to the Adobe site and downloaded the latest version of reader, which I wasn't using since I have acrobat pro. Then I changed the application to reader and it all works again! Yay!
