Firefox for Windows universal app
Please create a Firefox version for Windows RT/Windows Phone/Windows10/Xbox etc as a universal app. I read about API restrictions on Windows phone 8/8.1 for Firefox from a different thread. I am hoping that with Windows10 this restriction is removed so a universal app for all the platforms can be created. Firefox has been sorely missing from the Windows RT/8/8.1 tablets and Windows phones 8/8.1.
With a Windows 10 universal app Firefox would potentially be able to reach a far greater audience than Windows phone or Windows RT/8/8.1 alone. Firefox is one of the browsers used by millions on the Windows platform daily (32bit and 64-bit as of recently). Please extend it to the other Windows platforms as well.
Thanks

Hi jtletters:
Very interesting idea, thanks for that. I will pass it on to the desktop team (I work on Firefox for Android mostly). I am sure they are at least thinking about it!
Cheers! ...Roland
Thank you sir. Hopefully the universal apps platform benefits more than just Windows phone and Windows tablets
Hello I brought this issue up my self in the past to the developers and they said we don't have resources for the windows mobile app
Boo, I hope now that it's not just mobile and spans to multiple devices with a universal app they are able to allocate some resources.
Reading the press release at http://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2015/03/02/a-first-look-at-the-windows-10-universal-app-platform/
I don't believe that the Universal App Platform provides the low level access to the operating system or windowing system that Firefox uses to be a cross operating system application.
That's unfortunate. Let's hope these restrictions are not present in the final version of Windows 10
What I would like is the Firefox browser on Windows Phone with the same capabilities of adding just a few addons that are indispensable to me.
Windows RT was DOA (dead on arrival)!! It was one of those stupidest ideas that Microsoft had and wasted so much time and resources to do. There are good reasons why we like x86 compatibility.
So Firefox for Windows 10 on at least both Windows 10 (any flavor) and Windows Phone.
I won't be using Microsoft Edge, no matter how good it is. Firefox has many other advantages that supersede speed but Firefox is plenty speedy enough!
