So I have had this paticular issue on over 7 computers running different OS's from Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and 2003, and also Windows XP/Vista. What happens is I open firefox and begin to browse, Then randomly it can be 2 mins or 20 mins later when i click a link or try going to a different website no matter what tab or anything it just has the spinning circle and times out, Now i can open IE and browse that way instantly but i dont like IE. After about 5 minutes firefox starts to work again, This is a VERY annoying thing and Would love to figure it out, I have already tried the disabling dns preload so thats not it.

Thanks, Drew

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

You can try to repair the places database with this extension:

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

That has not fixed the issue :(
