How do I get the d/l history to clear itself after d/ling?

All my d/l remain in the d/l box and I have to clear them manually.This is a new computer and my older one that I set up about 3 years ago, clears itself after the d/l is completed and I don't remember how to set it up to clear itself.

  1. Click the orange Firefox button, then select Options to open the options window
  2. Go to the Privacy panel
  3. Change the setting "Firefox will" to "Use custom settings for history", this will then display more settings
  4. De-select the setting "Remember download history"
