Hey Fast Eddie, if your DNS quires are via UDP/TCP port 53, then yes your router, ISP, ... etc, can see your computer made a request for the IP address for a specific site. To circumvent this snooping we use, DNS over HTTPS (DoH) which encrypts the requests, and embeds them into the https tcp/443 encrypted data stream. If you use an unencrypted site HTTP:// vs. an encrypted site HTTPS:// then the data is easily snooped, passwords etc, which is why we use HTTPS Only. Then we use a VPN to so the encrypted data, hand-shakes etc, are grouped with a number of other users data are presented to the internet via the endpoint IP.
