Hello, in the settings> general> applications menu it does not allow adding file types, only modifying the ones that Firefox already interprets. To return the panel where it asks what to do with the files, you have to enter the advanced configuration of Firefox and change the following:

1- Type in the browser bar: about:config and press enter. 2-If a warning appears, accept it. 3- Type browser.download.improvements_to_download_panel in the search field that appears. 4- Double click to change from True to False. 5-Close Firefox and start it again

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to prevent opening the download panel on each download.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
