Problem changing default mail app in Firefox for iOS

I'm unable to change the default mail app in Firefox for iOS. The list that has GMAIL on it is grayed out and won't allow selection of anything other than MAIL. I believe it is because I don't use the actual GMAIL app on my iPhone. I use gmail in the browser. Is there any way to not have the MAIL app be the default?

Dear jeanrabunski, it is advisable to install the gmail app if you want it as default, otherwise iOS will always consider the MAIL app. I hope I was helpful.
