Windows 10 updated automatically to Edge and I cannot reset to Firefox following Firefox directions

more options

The last Windows 10 update took out Firefox and replaced it with Edge. I went to Firefox's install page and followed the directions to get rid of Edge and replace it with Firefox. Directions wording was somewhat different in Firefox directions in finding things on Edge and bottom line, there was no place offered where I could replace Edge with Firefox.

Unfortunately, in an effort to move people to their recently redesigned browser, Microsoft did reset the default internet browser for some users in a Windows 10 update.

However, Firefox is likely still installed on your computer. It's just not the program that opens when you want to browse the internet. The default internet browser can be changed from the Windows 10 settings screen.

To do that, right click on the Windows start icon in the bottom-left of your screen and select Settings. On the settings page, select Apps. On the left sidebar, you should see Default Apps listed there. When you click on there, you should see Web Browser listed as a default application with Microsoft Edge selected. If you click on it, Firefox or Mozilla Firefox should be listed as an option to change to.

Hope this helps and thanks for sticking with Firefox!
