Why doesn't my Thunderbird look like the screenshots on this website?

I want to search my emails in Thunderbird. I found an article on this website and it says I should see a search field at the top right but I don't. I went into options-advanced and my global search is enabled. I also notice that the interface in the screenshots in the help does not look like my interface in Thunderbird. I checked to see if I have the most current version and it says I do, updated July 9, 2019. I'll add a screenshot of the top of my interface. There is no search field.

There are various search methods in Thunderbird and they can perform slightly different requirements.

There is a 'Global Search' which is currently not displaying. 'View' > 'Toolbars' > select 'Customise' A 'Customise Toolbar' window opens. If you see a rectangular icon with the words 'Global search' - drag and drop it back onto the toolbar to the right of 'Tag'. If this does not seem available or not sure of process, click on the 'Restore Default Set' button and this should fix the issue.

Info on using the 'Global Search'

There is a 'Quick Filter Bar' - currently disabled. 'View' > 'Toolbars' > select 'Quick Filter Bar'

Info on using Quick filter Bar

The other method is : 'Edit' > 'Find' > 'Search Messages' This method also offers the option to save the search as a Search Folder for future use.
