Why are there 2 Firefox icons on my desktop?

I recently downloaded an update to my Firefox account but instead of adding to the original I now have 2 icons - can I delete the original without disrupting the new download?

Hi, could you use search please for Programs & Features and check to see that there is not 2 Firefox's installed. If only one go ahead and delete as can always make another one.
