Folders disappeared after trying to send reply, rec'd text deleted and message typed: TB says in state, can't because of seltection.

clicked replly; deleted all text, typed new message and changed subject; clicked sent; TB message: can't because of state TB is in due to select. All folders for the account dissappeared when I exited and restarted TB. Restarted Wjin 10, inbox reappeared Clicked Still error: The current operation on Inbox did not succeed, the mail server for account ... responded: Select command not permitted in current state (Not authenticaned server error). 

Deleted attempted send and messaged deleted too.

Still same result: how to change state?

Delete the account, then re-create it.

Right-click your account in the normal folder view of Thunderbird and choose Settings.

Click the Account Actions button on the bottom left and select Remove Account.

Click the Account Actions button again and select Add Mail Account.

Double-check with your e-mail provider to make sure you use the correct e-mail servers and settings.
