Why to links in Thunderbird messages not open in Firefox as default browser but do open in Chrome as default browser?

Since latest update to Thunderbird, seems like any links in email will no longer open with my preferred browser Firefox as default. The links work fine when I change default browser to Chrome.

Solution choisie

Given that the problem you have is with Firefox, chrome works. I will try and move your topic to Firefox support.
