Adobe Flash keeps crashing when I try to play games on Facebook & watch a live stream on sermon. net. This doesn't happen when I use Chrome.

I cannot view flash content in Firefox, as the Adobe Flash ALWAYS crashes. Not so with YouTube, as they are using HTML now. But, every other place I want to view a video, it inadvertently happens. So, if I really want to watch a video other than on YouTube, I have to use Chrome. Can anyone help me? I posted a comment on another thread, but not sure how to find it, and in there, someone said if you use an older version of Adobe Flash, it helps. Does anyone know about that? It was never this bad with FF & Adobe Flash. It crashed sometimes before, but not EVERY SINGLE TIME. I am running Win10.

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Hi, there, FredMcD, thank you for your response. But, unfortunately, I have done all or most of that. My graphics driver cannot be upgraded, & I cannot get a newer graphics card as I have a laptop. But, then I think if it was the graphics driver, I wouldn't be able to use Flash in Chrome either.

So, I believe it has to do with FF, Adobe Flash, or both. I just disabled hardware acceleration using Chrome. Then tried on FF going to sermon.net, but it still crashed. Flash protected mode has been disabled for a long time. So, I am at a loss. Only thing I could try now is running an older version of Adobe Flash. Any ideas on a good older version? Thanks!!

Chrome has its own version of Flash (Pepper), which differs from the version of Flash that Firefox uses (Plugin); a direct comparison isn't possible.

As far as trying an older version of Flash, go here: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html And grab the Extended Support Release - Flash Player 18.0.0.366 (Win & Mac) version.

Hi, there, the-edemeister, thank you for you response. OK, so you think that that version will help? Just askin'. Also, I noticed a few minutes ago that a new version of Firefox has been released. And, hey, I simply LOVE Firefox, but do you think that that version may help also? 'Cuz sometimes there are little idiosyncracies that make one version better with some features, and so forth, in my experience.

Thank you for your help!!!
