Despite all the mouthing off I still do not have an answer as to why my Thunderbird email went off line.
Airwave, you have had a great deal of comment to make about my apparent lack of expertise as far as computers are concerned. I could not agree more, I have absolutely no idea how these things work except for the various bits that have become familiar to me. However, there you are fronting this forum, yet YOU have not offered me a single sceric of advice as to why my email failed me all of yesterday, being 10/08/16. If you are so knowlegeable, why have you not offered me a tiny piece of advice as to what might have had happened?

I told you, contact your email provider and ask them why you did not get your mail. Please stop opening multiple threads for the same question. This is not your private form. Stop acting like it.

As I have tried ineffectually to explain to you airwave I do not have the ability to do any more than very basic tasks. However, somebody on this forum does have some decency and good manners and has sent me a reply that even a dumb-bunny like me can understand. It does not appear that you have got a clue except the ability to slag off at other peoples inability. This is not my private forum, I could not agree more, neither is it yours, however it is supposed to be the place for unfortunates like me to be able to get advice as to what went wrong and how to fix it if it happens again. I have the advice and assistance I hope I will require if this happens again, I will not be returning to your private waste of space airwave, go and abuse someone else.
Hi btb8150, you are not blameless here. Coming in demanding an apology in a context where there was a disconnect between the software on your computer and whoever provides your email mailbox was unhelpful at best, and in the eyes of some, picking a fight.
You certainly can ask your question in a neutral manner, for example:
"Why couldn't Thunderbird connect all day yesterday?"
That's how I recommend approaching tech problems: get the facts before laying blame.
Hello jscher2000. You may well be dead right. However, that is the person that I am. I was not aware that I was being aggressive in my request. I was annoyed, I was trying to get an answer from a system that seems very reluctant to give answers. There is no contact us address, there is absolutely no way to get in contact with Mozilla or Thunderbird for that matter. The only avenue for getting advice is through that forum. When airwave started getting uppity with me I saw red. I believe I kept my temper under extremely good control considering the reaction I was receiving from that person. As to my wording of that all important question, I asked it as politely as I am capable. A little more consideration from people other than yourself would have been appreciated. Tech problems leave me cold I have to ask for assisstance the only way I know, DIRECTLY.
