the address book is no longer showing up [Mac]

MY address book no longer shows the names/addresses of my contacts. It does fill in when I write an email, but I cannot see them when I open the address book. It says it will show them when I search, but it doesn't so that. What happened to this? It seems like you are having problems (with firefox as well- it can't go beyond one link before it goes to yahoo search. I have given up with that one- but I would like to access my address book)

Solution choisie

Install one of the restart addons like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/restartless-restart/

If you do a restart, are you able to access the addressbook?
