Deleting in Thunderbird won't delete on Server

I thought that if I delete emails from Thunderbird (specifically emails in my Trash folder)-they should also delete from my Trash folder on my Server, but they aren't.

Can anyone advise?

Ok, so another bizarre moment: yesterday Thunderbird was not mirroring my Server, but today it is and the emails that I delete in TBird *are* deleting from the Server...exactly how I want it to be.

I just don't understand why I was having trouble yesterday...

Have you checked with your email provider? They may have had a glitch.

It's probably just some kind of thunderbird configuration
