Firefox 31 Release / Issues / Status

  1. Google has fixed this issue on their side, so you should no longer experience this and the workaround to allow pop-ups for mail.google.com is no longer necessary.

  2. I got a PM about the browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone preference being removed. Does anyone know of a bug report or other reference showing when this happened?

Forum Response - Downloads hang at the last minute will need to be archived and its entry removed from common forum responses. The article What to do if you can't download or save files will also need editing. *

From a goggle search I found the following, which indicated that the preference was removed in Firefox 31 (but the person who PM'ed me wrote that it's also gone in Firefox 28 on Windows XP)

I also found this mozillazine topic about a new Malware detection feature in Firefox 31:

In the above topic, this post mentions that the preference was removed but no bug report was given.

    To add to the above:

I checked in Firefox 24 ESR and the preference browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone is listed with the default setting, "true". See also /questions/1015261 and jscher2000's answer (In an edit to that answer, he inferred that maybe the preference is now hidden ... but I tend to doubt it).

I checked the Download Manager preferences article at MDN and the entry for browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone doesn't mention any changes (but the page could just be outdated).

Hopefully someone will clear this up, since even Tyler Downer suggested searching for the browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone preference in /questions/1015261 ... and that person was using Firefox 31 (on Windows 7).

[*]Edit: The Forum Response - Downloads hang at the last minute entry has been archived and removed from common forum responses. I've also revised the KB article, What to do if you can't download or save files for Fx31, to remove the two sections that refer to browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone (needs review/approval). I've already updated the related sections of MozillaZine's KB article, http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files
