Hello, Previously, I had my email with Xfinity, but they stopped this service and set us to Yahoo Mail. I’ve had no luck in setting it up in Outlook, so I tried Thunderbird and encountered the same problem. I have Windows 11. I’m using the IMAP settings recommended by Yahoo. During the setup process, everything checks, but when it asks for an address, which is from Xfinity, and a password, which I’m not sure they’re asking for so I tried the Xfinity, Yahoo, and Mozilla passwords. I get the authentication error on each attempt. Help! Thanks, Parris

If I have a password to sign into my Thunderbird emails, where do I find it. I haven't gotten this requirement in the past so where might I find it now and/or stop those messages?

After moving my Thunderbird profile to a new computer none of my accounts can authenticate. I followed the instructions here: Move Thunderbird data to a new computer, using "An alternative method for manual transfer between Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers." What explains the response in the attached image, "Something went wrong," and how can I fix it? Happens when I click "Next", the first step to log it.

I have a related problem with other accounts set up in the profile. This one is using Oauth2. I tried switching to password, and hand a similar problem. I tested the connection to the server in Settings for the account and it was successful. Same for the others. They all authenticate successfully on my old computer.

When I try to access my email on Thunderbird, I keep getting the same message: Login to account "jayoung3@icloud.com" failed Login to server imap.mail.me.com with username jayoung3 failed.

I changed my password but I still can't access my email. And I have an account recovery code (which I don't know how to use).

I had TB on my desktop for years and finally got it also synced to my phone. Then with a failure with Windows 11 had to wipe clean the desktop and start over. Cannot reinstall TB. I obviously have the correct e-mail and password as I was able to log into Mozilla and submit this question. I believe it is a problem with my user name and what is on my phone setup does not work with my desktop reinstallation.

I have filled in an un-correct password a number of times due to incorrect language setting of my keyboard. Then the popup window for this disappeared, and I cannot find a place to enter password. What can I do? It is the password for outgoing email.

Hi! I didn't set up a passkey on PayPal Business and the best that PayPal can figure, it was done by Firefox. I don't have the PIN for this passkey and I can't set-up another passkey because my account "already has a passkey". I can't change the passkey PIN because I don't know the PIN. I'd like to know:

• Why would Firefox set up a passkey on PayPal business for me? ( I think that should be my decision, thank you very much.)
• Given that one was "set-up" for me; where is the passkey hidden? Any clues on that?
• Is there anyway to get Firefox to undo the passkey (or tell me the PIN) that I didn't request so I don't have to switch to Edge just to go to PayPal Business. It's ridiculous!
• Has this happened to anyone else or has anyone heard of this.

The work around that PayPal recommended is that I go to PayPal from another browser. I always use Firefox and sort of resent having to switch browsers for this reason just for this account. From Microsoft Edge and I can go to my PayPal business account and just sign in with my password and there is no request for a passkey PIN. I'm not setting up a passkey at this point, which would only be wrong if I use Firefox to log on. So I'll stick with switching to Edge for the time being! Maybe someone can give me a clue.

PS: I tried to get a screenshot of the pop-up related to this issue that says "requested by Firefox" but I wasn't allowed to get a screenshot from there.

In setting up a new PC (laptop), I must make my password known to the software. But I cannot remember my password. On my existing, older, laptop, I saved my email password long ago i.e. I do not have to enter my password, on the older laptop in order to get email. I no longer remember my own password. I am trying to reinstall Thunderbird on my computer using Windows 10 and I get a pop-up box requesting to sign in to my Google account and then an authentication error message. How do I get past this?

Mozilla VPN repeatedly gives "authentication error" when I try to log in, I have tried reset but no difference. I am working on Linux Mint with Firefox. Any tips?

I had to reinstall windows 11 on my laptop so I also had to reinstall Thunderbird, but the latter will not accept my email & password (same as on my desktop). (I do not use hotmail or outlook, just Thunderbird.) Is there something I'm missing?

I have Thunderbird on my Win 11 Pro Laptop and on my Samsung Android phone. My primary email account works fine on both devices. My secondary account with the domain name otakorp.org works fine on the Android Thunderbird app, but when I try to set it up on the Windows version it sees that it's a gmail server and sets both incoming and outgoing servers to Oauth2 authentication, but generates an unspecific error (see included image). Any suggestions?

I received an email message from earthlink which included a verification code that I did not request. Earthlink support told me to change my password immediately which I did. Now when I open open Mozilla on me laptop, it requires me to put in the new password. How do I change the password/login that Mozilla uses to access earthlink?

Have a new computer and when they transfered my information they didn't do my email. I finally got found it an downloaded it but now it won't accept my password. Plese help I'm getting desperate. Thank you Mary Ward

It has been going on for two days. I tried restarting in troubleshoot mode and it didn't turn on the "Show Password" button. The version of thunderbird I'm using is Mozilla Thunderbird.

When I got into the "Show Passwords" in "Saved Passwords in "Privacy & Security", I had to click "Remove All" in "Show Passwords" to delete it, and now it turns off the "Show Passwords" in the "Saved Passwords" section, and now the OAuth2 is missing.
