Why is firefox 13.1 in safe-mode slow running on windows 2008 R2?
Issue I connect to a large company support site and it takes forever to down load the site information. I do not have this problem with IE.

Why are you using SafeMode?
Is it that slow when not using the Firefox SafeMode?

In Firefox, go to tools>options>advanced>connection (click on settings button)>Select "no proxy".
Not sure if this will help, though it did it on mine in XP.
The problem exists in normal and safe mode. I switched to safe-mode after reading an issue about firefox being slow when to much memory was grabbed by add-ons. So I have the problem in normal and safe-mode. Changing the proxy setting did not help. Thank you to all for the suggestions. Note my windows 2008 R2 is a 64 bit platform.
