Old win 10 computer with Thunderbird pop account. Want to move all saved e-mails from old computer to new computer. New computer (win 11) installed thunderbird as an IMAP account. Alternatively, if not practical, how to save old e-mail in readable format. Thanks

On OLD computer

  1. click help>troubleshootinginformation
  2. scroll to 'profile folder' and click 'open folder'
  3. exit thunderbird
  4. click the Mail folder and then the POP account folder
  5. locate the message folder sets, such as inbox,inbox.msf, sent.sent.msf
  6. copy the entries that are NOT msf to external media

On NEW computer

  1. install importexporttools NG addon
  2. click and highlight Local Folders
  3. rightclick and select the importexport option to import mbox file
  4. that opens the file explorer panel. locate and select one of the files you exported.
  5. repeat above steps for remaining folders
