Transferring messages to EWS from local storage stops after a while with no error message

In our organization we have moved from an on-premise mail server to M365. We've also added our new EWS-based accounts to Thunderbird. Since there are a large number of users with a significant amount of older mails they want to have access to, they have been asking how they could upload them to EWS now.

We've noticed that either copying or moving messages from local folders to an EWS folder fails after some time. Has anyone encountered this?

From the TB diagnostics console:

All our systems are Windows 11 Pro rigs, domain-joined, with ESET endpoint security installed.

Michail,

So far we haven't reproduced this. Are you still seeing the problem? And do you feel it is related to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2017528 ?

Still do. We are not aware whether these two are related but we do have a multitude of problems with TB over EWS, to the point we've encouraging our users to just go with webmail.

The most serious of issues is the disappearance of inbox, for which it can be got back only by removing and reinstating the EWS account. For some users we've replaced the EWS account with an IMAP one, which seems to go along nicely, but we do not have the time and strength to produce documentation for our users to do so massively (they'll probably do a contract on our heads).

Thanks for the update. For inbox missing see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2015590
